You need to have or develop entrepreneurial skills, attitudes and habits to be able to succeed in any business endeavor. You need to learn marketing. You need to learn how a business/marketing process or system really works so you can use the tool effectively.
One of the main discoveries I came upon that allowed me to finally understand this arena for what it truly is and allowed me to build a business centered on simple but powerful, time tested principles is when I learned that success in this arena comes to those who learn marketing and Human Relation Skills, and those that can build a SYSTEM around sound principles of marketing, promotion and training.
Success in this arena comes when you fully realize that you are in the
business of building LEADERS. Leaders are manufactured with training.
Training should be centered on personal growth, entrepreneurship and
marketing skills.
This can easily be done with SYSTEMS and LEVERAGE.
Building a home based business marketing system is not difficult. The problem is that so many people fail to do so. The main reason they fail to do so is because they never receive the proper training, tools and resources to learn ‘the big picture’ and put all the pieces together.
What does an effective Internet Marketing System look like?
These are the basic parts of an effective Internet Marketing System:
1. Lead Capture Page – A simple one page web site with a form for collecting a prospect’s name, email and phone number so you can follow up and present information via email and direct to a sales page.
2. Auto-Responder System – Automatically sends out a series of follow up messages via email to educate, build a relationship and direct a prospect through a sales process.
3. Your Personal Story Page – A place to share with your prospects who you are, your story, pictures, videos about you. Build relationships, network and put a human face on your business. This could be a blog, a web site or your free Facebook, MySpace and/or YouTube Channel.
4. Sales/Presentation Page – Presents a sales letter to your prospect to
convert sales, answer questions, explain benefits and features and
provide testimonials and a call to action.
5. Training System – Educates and trains new members in how to promote,advertise, build a list, build relationships with prospects and convert sales.
6. Affiliate Marketing or Funded Proposals – allow you to make upfront
cash flow to offset your marketing costs or monetize your list building by offering and selling lower priced, valuable information products to your prospects so that you generate income whether they join you in your business opportunity or not. Additional affiliate products and services can be offered to your list via email marketing offers indefinitely which generates multiple income streams for you on autopilot from focusing on building ONE SYSTEM.
If it’s that simple, why isn’t everyone doing this?
That question baffles me. There are many answers for it but in my opinion it’s mainly due to the lack of marketing knowledge that people in this industry come in with.
Usually people ‘fall in love’ with some product or service and they join a
business opportunity and become a distributor of that company, essentially becoming a commission only sales rep.
Unfortunately for most, being a sales rep/distributor of a certain product does not mean you know anything about marketing or how to ‘move’ that product.
Usually when people tell me that they just joined a certain company and are excited and I ask them how they are going to build their business, they have no clear answer.
They assume their sponsor, system or company is responsible for showing them how to market and build their business and although they are correct, the reality of the matter is that NOBODY is responsible for YOUR success other than YOU.
Your sponsor’s responsibility is to make sales. Your company’s responsibility is to produce product, manage a compensation plan and stay in business. The responsibility for growing your business rests squarely on your shoulders and that’s GREAT news – here’s why:
